We love Airedales and have an Airedale in our home since 1999.

We have 4 children and they have loved being raised around Airedale's as well as various other breeds of dogs throughout their lives.

We all participate in the raising of our dogs and greatly enjoy sharing our lives with them!

We have found Airedale Terriers to be the best all-around dog for every stage of life; they have plenty of "get up and go" and can keep up when the need arises but they also have the ability to gear down and settle when it's time.

We have just opened up taking reservations on this litter. If you are interested in placing a deposit to reserve a puppy, you can read about how to do that by reading below in the "Adoption Process" section, or else you can always contact us via email.

If you are interested in learning more about reserving a pup, please read about our typical practices below...

Adoption Process

Thank you for your interest in our puppies! Here you will find information on our application process, health information, and puppy pricing.

First steps…

Please send us a message by clicking here and tell us a bit about you what you are looking for in an Airedale Terriers or feel free to simply ask any questions you might have!

Reserving Your New Puppy

We have a short form that we will send you upon request with all of the details on how you can go about placing an email on a Skinner Airedale puppy. Once that is filled out, returned to us either via email or snail mail, and we receive your deposit, your name is on the list!

Pricing

Please contact us for  current pricing on puppies.

Timing

When the puppies are born, families who have placed deposits will be contacted immediately. If there are any puppies that do not have reservations placed on them, we will post about them here, on our website, and share them on our socials.

At 6-weeks old, once they get their physicals at the vet's office, reserved puppies will be chosen by their new families in the order of deposits placed. We do this so that if there are remaining puppies available, it gives us time to make everyone aware before their 8 week old Pick-Up Day!

Also around the 6-week old mark, we will have a conversation to set up  Pick-Up date and time or transportation needs (if we haven't already discussed them)

You can expect lots of posts and updates via our social media pages as well as emails so we can keep the new owners up-to-date on how everyone is growing and changing as the weeks tick by until Pick-Up Day comes!

Bringing Your Puppy Home

Puppy Pick-Up Day takes place at 8-weeks old. Each puppy will have a vet exam prior to being sent to their new home. He/she will come with current records, up-to-date on immunizations, heartworm treatment, worming, and AKC Puppy Papers will be available.

Refunds & Transportation

Reservation Refund Policy

Puppy reservation deposits are non-refundable, however, it IS transferable between coming litters.

Transportation

Our preference is that new owners come in person to pick up their new puppy but in some cases, that just isn't possible.

In these instances, we are happy to meet you anywhere within a 100 mile radius of our home for an additional $200 added to your balance due.

If you need transportation beyond 200 miles, we recommend Lilian from Road Dawg (573) 539-9042 as a trusted pet transportation service option in the continental United States. Lilian charges her own fee which we will get from her and relay to you when the puppies are around 6-weeks old and we are scheduling Pick-Up Day.

If you have international transportation needs, please contact Tails In The Air: Pet Relocation Experts. We are unable to provide international transport without using this specific company. We have worked with them in the past and can't recommend them enough.

    Airedale Terrier coat differences

    Airedale Terrier Coat Variences

You don't have to talk very long about Airedale's without their coats coming up.
The general consensus is that there are 3 types of coats: A Sheep-coat, a Wire Coat, and a Soft Coat.
We do not keep sheep-coat Airedale's in our breeding program.

While temperament takes prescinedence, we find the sheep-coat Airedale coats to be prone to matting, they carry more smell, and they don't seem to take the heat or the cold as well.
Soft coats, well, they kind of speak for themselves. While they will make a perfectly good pet, we don't use them in our breeding program due to the dramatic changes in temperature up here in Wisconsin and the low tolerance they have for those changes.
The middle coat here, the Wire Coat, is more "typical" of a traditional Airedale coat and is what people prefer above all the other coats. This coat has a lot of potential, with proper grooming, to be a durable and easy to care for coat. It sheds water easier, they stay cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter and they have very little smell and shed so little, it's a nice change from some other breeds out there!

Slick Coats, "Redlines," and the 3rd Quadrent

Not often talked about but it definitely  needs to be spoken about more is the coat called a Slick Coat, a "redline," or what Henry Johnson referred to as "the 3rd quadrant."
Click here to be taken to a post with some of Henry Johnson's writing on the vitally important role that slick coats play in the Airedale breed.

    The Airedales

    Nnamssams Skinner's Vera Ann

Vera was born in February 2022.

Vera comes from the Nnamssams Kennel out of northern Minnesota and we couldn't be more thrilled with her. She shows tremendous agility and intelligence and has excelled in everything we have put to her. She is the total package and exhibits fantastic balance wherever she goes, be it in the woods or in the home.

She is a wonderful house dog and companion to the entire family and loves nothing more than riding in the car and being with her  family. She has a classic smooth coat and has proven herself hearty in all climates; she handles heat with no problem and her favorite winter activity is bounding through the snow and digging tunnels. Her pedigree is full of breeder  "greats" such as Sandhill, Mogollon, and more.

Vera Ann is approximately 22 inches at the shoulder and weighs 50 pounds.

    Skinner's Notorious Geordie Sean

Geordie Sean was born in September 2022. He has a a fabulous coat that requires little-to-no grooming and when he does need a little touch-up, he has only ever been hand-stripped.

He is a great family dog as well as dedicated protector of the yard! You would be hard pressed to find a more people-oriented, attentive dog. He's a quick study and goes from happy-go-lucky pet to an all-business terrier when needed. He is out of working lines from down in the Oklahoma/New Mexico area.

He has proven himself to be more than competent in the woods and is a true "ride or die" dog that is eager to please.

He is approximately 23 inches at the shoulder and weighs around 60 pounds.

    Muleskinner's Little Skinner

Skinner was born in August 2016. He has shown himself to be a solid, well-rounded Airedale that has been an asset to everything we have involved him in.
He loves hunting and has easily taken to everything from varmint hunting to retrieving birds.
Skinner comes from working lines out of the Oklahoma/New Mexico area and is definitely a Working Airedale.

He loves his family and his favorite hobby in the summer is to play with puppies and go to the river to visit and swim.

He is approximately 70 pounds and about 24 inches at the shoulder.

    Airedale Terrier

    Skinner's Smidgen Marie

Smidgen was born in April 2024 and is a Vera X Geordie pup. She is a very promising young Airedale that we are extremely excited to have in our program. Like all of her siblings, she has that exceptional coat, pleasing but discerning temperament, and her adaptability is encouraging to see in a dog so young.
Smidgen shows all the signs you want to see in a Airedale her age and we can't wait to see how she turns out.

    Airedale Terrier

    Skinner's Nashville Rambler

Nash was born in April 2024 and is a Vera X Geordie pup.

Nash is an extraordinary young male that was too exceptional to let go; we knew we had to keep him.

He has phenomenal bone and that highly sought after "old school" Airedale look that we are thrilled to be able to reproduce in our lines.

He is a classic Airedale with that discerning temperament, eye-catching features, and is already a tremendous companion and cautious protector.

We have high hopes for Nash and look forward to watching him mature and grow!
